OUR MISSION

To advance the rights, protection, wellbeing, and economic resilience of vulnerable populations through inclusive and community-led development interventions.

OUR VISION

A just and equitable society where every child, youth, adolescent girl, and vulnerable woman can thrive in dignity, safety, and opportunity.

What We Do

Five Programmes. One Purpose.

Every initiative we run is designed to address a systemic barrier faced by the most vulnerable members of Kisumu County’s communities. We work at the intersection of protection, education, health, and economic empowerment.

Child Protection & Reintegration

Rescuing and reintegrating street-connected children in Kisumu East through holistic care, family tracing, and psychosocial support.

Education & Learning Equity

Removing resource barriers that undermine educational outcomes in local schools, from textbooks to ICT integration and classroom infrastructure.

Youth Mental Health

Reducing stigma and strengthening resilience through peer mentorship, psychosocial support spaces, and community-based campaigns.

Adolescent Health & Dignity

Ensuring adolescent girls can manage menstruation safely and confidently through hygiene kits, education, and policy advocacy.

Women's Economic Empowerment

Strengthening livelihoods and social inclusion for widows through savings groups, enterprise skills, and rights advocacy.

Aligned With the SDGs

Our work directly contributes to SDG 1, 3, 4, 5, and 10 — anchoring every intervention in global standards for inclusive development.

Who We Are

A Grassroots Movement Born From Community Need

Founded in 2024, AOOF emerged from a resolute commitment to address the growing challenges facing vulnerable populations in Kisumu County. We are deeply embedded in the communities we serve, and we believe that lasting change is only possible when communities themselves lead.

Our programming is informed by human rights principles and aligned with international frameworks including the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals, the Convention on the Rights of the Child, and Kenya’s national development priorities.

Voices From Our Communities

The Change We Work For

“AOOF gave my daughter a chance to return to school with dignity. She no longer misses class every month because of something as basic as sanitary pads. It has transformed her confidence entirely.”

Nyaresa Achieng

Parent, Kisumu East

“The reintegration programme found my son and brought him back to us. Today he is back in school and playing football. I did not believe it was possible until AOOF made it happen.”

John Otieno

Father, West Kajulu

“The table banking group AOOF helped us form has changed everything. We can now plan, save, and invest. My small business is growing and I have a voice in my community.”
