Our Programming
Five Programmes, One Shared Goal
Every programme we run addresses a distinct dimension of vulnerability — from child safety to women’s economic independence — while sharing a common rights-based foundation and community-led methodology.
Programme 1 of 5
🛡 Child Protection & Social Reintegration
Protecting Children. Restoring Hope. Rebuilding Futures.
Every child deserves safety, care, and the opportunity to thrive. Yet many children in Kisumu East continue to face neglect, exploitation, abuse, and life on the streets. AOOF works to protect vulnerable children through comprehensive child protection and reintegration services that place the best interests of every child at the center of every decision. Our approach combines emergency response with long-term reintegration support, recognizing that protection is an ongoing commitment to each child’s wellbeing, education, and belonging.

📚 Education & Learning Equity
Expanding Opportunity Through Inclusive Education.
Education is one of the most powerful tools for breaking cycles of poverty and inequality. Yet in many schools across Kisumu County, children sit in classrooms without textbooks, without adequate furniture, and without access to the basic materials that make learning possible. AOOF works to ensure that children and young people can access quality learning environments regardless of their socio-economic background, partnering directly with schools, teachers, and school management structures to address resource gaps.

🌸 Adolescent Health & Dignity
Advancing Menstrual Health, Dignity, and Educational Retention.
Menstrual health is a matter of human rights, public health, and gender equality. Across many communities in Kisumu County, menstrual poverty continues to undermine the educational participation, self-confidence, and social inclusion of adolescent girls. Too many girls miss school, drop out, or suffer in silence. AOOF ensures that every girl can manage menstruation safely and confidently through a combination of product access, education, male engagement, and policy advocacy.
KEY INTERVENTIONS

💼 Women's Economic Empowerment & Social Inclusion
Strengthening Economic Resilience and Women's Agency.

When a woman loses her spouse, she often also loses access to land, income, social standing, and community networks essential for survival. AOOF works to reverse this through integrated economic empowerment programmes that combine livelihood development, financial inclusion through savings and lending groups, social support, and rights awareness.

- Savings and lending groups (Chama, table banking)
